Color of the right yoga clothing - Yogic color theory

Yoga clothing should be subtle in color and not distract you so that you can fully concentrate on your exercises. That's why we prefer soft colors and smooth lines for our various yoga leggings and tops. Psychology has long known that colors can activate feelings. Colors evoke emotions by triggering visual stimuli that are associated with certain feelings and moods.

Each color has certain properties and beneficial effects.

Depending on the topic, you can work specifically with certain colors.

And in yoga, the colour of clothing also plays a key role:

White represents unity with Atman - the soul. In Kundalini Yoga, white is traditionally worn. Many Kundalini Yoga teachers wear a turban - this, like the white clothing, is supposed to help you feel clearer and more balanced. The pure color can also express clarity, simplicity and neutrality - let it support you if you long for more clarity and balance!

Black is often associated with elegance, authority, power and strength. But the color is also a symbol of darkness, mystery and sadness.

Yellow symbolizes a learning mind that is open and in harmony with body and soul, and stands for joy, happiness, energy and optimism.

Orange is associated with vitality, enthusiasm and warmth. It can also symbolise adventurousness and creativity and is associated with activity and openness, self-confidence, but also warmth and tenderness. It is also said that a depressive mood can be brightened by the colour orange. In Buddhism, the colour stands for the highest level of human enlightenment. This is why enlightened Buddhists like the Dalai Lama wear this colour. In India, orange is the colour of the swamis. It is the colour of abstinence and also the colour of fire, which removes all attachments.
burns and can thus lead to self-realization. Orange is also the color of meditation and is said to be able to enhance the meditation practice. For these reasons, we have designed a series of models in the powerful color mandarin. Check them out right here:

Red is often associated with passion, energy, love and excitement. So if you are looking for a look for your power yoga that gives you energy and strength, then we recommend our models in red tones.

The Seven Chakras: Color in Harmony

Some yogis wear clothes in the colors of the chakras they are working on. Working on a chakra means balancing or activating it. Chakra means "wheel, energy wheel or vortex." When the wheel turns, prana, the life energy, flows - it is in flux.

The chakra theory is a philosophy and meditation system originating from India that deals with the invisible energy centers. Here in the West, we focus most intensively on the seven large chakras. When our chakras are stimulated, they can absorb the energy of the environment. The development of the chakras begins in the womb. Each of the seven chakras vibrates in its basic color and is connected to certain organs and body regions.

Chakra 1 – Root Chakra: fiery red

Chakra 2 – Sacral Chakra: orange

Chakra 3 –Solar plexus: yellow/golden yellow

Chakra 4 – Heart Chakra: green and pink

Chakra 5 – Throat & Larynx Chakra: light blue

Chakra 6 – Forehead chakra: Indigo blue (also called “third eye”)

Chakra 7 – Crown chakra: violet to white

The perfect cut for your yoga practice

Different yoga styles require different
cutting techniques.

For classic Hatha and Yin yoga, you can practice in comfortable baggy pants and a loose T-shirt. Here, it is more important to dress warmly enough, as you can get cold when holding the positions for a long time and during meditation.

When practicing Kundalini Yoga, you should wear light-colored clothing - ideally all white.

If you practice a dynamic yoga style like Ashtanga or Jivamukti , it is important that you wear tight-fitting, stretchy,
breathable and non-slip clothing. This is how the fast flow sequences
as little as possible in the way.

Holistic well-being begins with the development of our designs and cuts.

When doing yoga, it is important that the clothing does not press, slip or constrict in any position. To ensure maximum well-being and concentration during practice, we have our models tested by experienced yogis and work with them on the cut until we have achieved the highest level of comfort.

For example, our leggings are double-layered in the crotch and hip area and therefore
comfortable and not see-through. After extensive testing, we have also developed an optimal solution for the waistband: our comfortable waistband. It was important to us that the waistband remains flexible when moving and does not cut in even in the most unusual positions. From the very beginning, it not only impressed with its comfort and appearance, but our customers also love it because when pulled up as a high waist it warms the back and stomach and when folded down as a low waist waistband it ensures quick cooling. Ultimately, our motivation in developing each individual model is the authentic connection between body and mind when wearing our clothing.

Real yogis also choose their yoga clothing based on the Yamas

Therefore, you should make sure that your outfit is not only practical and chic, but also produced without violence and without exploitation of people and nature.

Because with your decisions and your awareness you can make this world a better place.

Yamas are the ethical rules of conduct that the wise Indian scholar Patanjali wrote centuries ago in the Yoga Sutra, the classic guide to yoga.
This is why he is also called the "Father of Yoga". The Yoga Sutras are considered the fundamental work of yoga.

These words of wisdom are the inspiration for the development of our sustainable lounge
Cherie yoga models. We make sure that the Yamas are also observed in the production of our sustainable yoga clothing: Lounge Cherie models are developed in Austria under non-violent, sustainable and social conditions with a lot of love and appreciation and produced in the EU. Our fabrics are Made in Austria, which means we have extremely short transport routes and support suppliers from our region. Transparent supply chains and fair production conditions are essential for us and a basic need. We see change as an opportunity to become even more sustainable and to continuously optimize our processes. We are particularly proud of this!
